The importance/benefits of including strength training in your New Year’s Resolution!

WHY Making strength training should be a central part of your New Year’s resolution in losing weight and getting into better shape! It builds muscle, elevates metabolism for effective weight loss, and preserves lean mass for better fitness. This fosters a healthier, age-defying active lifestyle. Remarkably, resistance exercises stimulate essential the body’s collagen production even after age 30 and beyond—thickening dermis, boosting elasticity, and delivering firmer, younger-looking skin. NO creams or supplements can render these types of results as does strength training along with your cardio-aerobic workout.

The best way to protect your skin and have a younger appearance isn’t anti-aging creams or ointments; but strengthening your muscles. If you want proof, I direct your attention to the feature photograph that was taken in September of 2025 for a classic car & airshow we were having in November.

In the featured photograph above, I am 68 years old, soon to be 69 this year. I have been working out since I was 12- years old using strength training as my center piece with my cardio/aerobics training in my home gym and outdoors cycling. A picture is worth a thousand benefits. IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO START STRENGTH TRAINING!

This post will include a summary of my strength training regimen as well!

I am posting this notice of my January 9th article today where people will not miss out on one of the biggest juggernauts for better health and fitness in the NEW YEAR that includes age-defying skin and avoiding brown spots and wrinkles. For those approaching their 30’s and especially their 50’s this will be a must-read article for you on the importance of including strength training.
