A major part of our age-defying health and fitness is our lifestyle by being involved in hobbies and sports all throughout our lives. One sport that can be played almost our entire life is golf. This is why I wrote the book The Golfer’s Sync-Preset Strike ZONE APP Technique for people to be able to avoid the customary obstacles and inconsistencies in playing golf.

I have golf swing techniques that can help develop a person’s instincts where the game of golf can become automatic and instinctive as walking is to them. Golf provides the means for us to improve our cognitive functions while remaining flexible, healthy, and fit especially if you walk the course, as I do. When I walk the course, I can walk up to 8.75 miles on 18- holes twice per week for 10- months during the year here in Mississippi.

On Saturday, June 04th, of 2022, I met with the WJTV-12 film crew to shoot a video for their SPORTS ZONE Show here in Madison, Mississippi.

Their Sport ZONE director Noah Newman wanted to interview me and discuss my Golfer’s Sync-Preset Strike ZONE APP Technique book and demonstrate my golf swing technique while his film crew filmed my golf swing. This was going to be aired the following Sunday night during their Sports ZONE Show after their 10 O’clock local news segment. The only request that the film crew had during our production meeting was they wanted to use only one camera setup to film the entire Tee shot using my driver.

Almostgolf® Balls to Turn any Area into your Golf Course

My go to Practice Golf balls to develop a consistent golf game using Almostgolf® balls for safe and effective muscle memory development.

I had the perfect practice ball for this situation per the film crew request, I used my Almostgolf® balls that travel one-third the distance of an actual golf ball in feet up to 300 feet that don’t cause injuries or property damage. There is one drawback, my golden retriever can’t resist sinking his teeth into them.

So, what the golfer is doing with the Almostgolf® balls is hitting shots in feet instead of yards up to 100- yards using their driver. The yards to feet third ratio is perfect to establish distances and work on confidence, controlling shape shots, and consistency in your golf game. I enjoy using my Almostgolf® for my practice sessions, because without confidence the golfer can’t use their biggest advantage, their subconscious mind where their instincts are located.

Subconscious Mind Sports Zone Performance

Part of the 10- Rules of the subconscious mind is Rule No. 1 where the subconscious mind must not and does not differentiate between visualizations and real situations. To provide effective practice sessions, I use my Almostgolf® balls as if I am on the golf course instead in my backyard, in my case my pasture, or the practice range. I take one shot at each station instead of making multiple shots as if I was on the practice range and walk between shots.

This type of real practice session provides adrenaline conditions during my practice sessions as if I was on the golf course. So my brain doesn’t realize the difference between my practice and performance. This is kind of like scrummage practice we used to use in high school football.

We DO NOT Play Golf with our Conscious Mind but our Subconscious Mind with Instincts!

 

Any golfer needs to understand we don’t play golf with our conscious mind but our subconscious mind. Our subconscious does not and must not be able to distinguish between the golfer’s practice time and course performance. So, when the golfer gets to the first tee box, their conscious mind doesn’t interfere by thinking we can take five to six tee shots off the first tee box until they get a drive they like.

Subconscious Rule No. 7 states- The subconscious mind always prevails in conflicts with the conscious mind. During our practice sessions, our conscious mind is more active thinking. But if we don’t build instincts with muscle memory when we get to the golf course the subconscious mind disregards our practice time. 

 

Example of RULE No. 1– You remember TOP GUN: MAVERICK Movie where Tom Cruise tells Miles Teller: “That if you think up there, you are dead.” Same thing occurs on the golf course, if the golfer focuses on swing thoughts, their golf game is dead. Your golf swing has to be instinctive not based on swing thoughts. If your golf game isn’t instinctive, you won’t have the instinctive skills needed when you step foot on the first tee box. This is why golfers state that they can’t take their golf game from the range to the golf course just a few yards away.

Baseball Swing Mechanics and Almostgolf Ball for Effective Golf Practice Session

Again, the Almostgolf® balls that are limited up to an 100- yard range that would represent a 300- yard Tee shot with an actual golf ball that also provides actual flight characteristics of an actual golf ball for feedback. Just remember wind will have a 33% more impact on the Almostgolf balls, so limit your time on windy days.

These Almostgolf® balls are safe for urban sittings like in the backyard or in your garage for iron shots, refer to the video below that the film crew shot also using actual golf balls. What is really nice about Almostgolf® balls is using a local high school practice football field to hit your golf shots. Suggestion: I used a chipping mat to protect the surface of the practice field. Always be considerate of where you are practicing by protecting their turf.

What is nice about this video below the Sync-Preset Strike ZONE technique used in shot pitch shots are the same in the Tee shot that I am demonstrating in my garage.

 

 

If you noticed in the videos above, I am also using a through-down home plate for my practice sessions and for teaching golf lessons. This is a great Sports Psychology technique that allows the golfers to use their instinctive baseball swing mechanics to make confident and consistent golf shots. The permanent motor skills we are using in golf were developed before age 12.

If you are like me, I picked up a baseball bat way before I picked up a golf club. Even Tiger Woods’ father used a baseball swing technique to help coach Tiger Woods. If you ever swung at a low-inside sinker pitch, you are using the same mechanics as in a golf swing.
